NOLA RESTAURANTS

Well, my friends, the best laid plans do not always work out they way you anticipate.  I could not get reservations for any of our choices until well into the night.  So, with that in mind, I quote two of my favorite writers:

“You can’t always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need”

Mick Jagger & Keith Richards

Surmounting the obstacles, I have booked not one, but two restaurants for our GIRLS TRIP OUT adventure.

Dinner on Friday night is at Sac-A-Lait, a farm to table restaurant in an old cotton mill in the warehouse district of New Orleans.

I have added a spiritual component on Sunday morning, booking brunch at 10:30 a.m. at Vessel, located in the former Grace Lutheran Church built in 1914.  Vessel is located less than two miles from Jazz Fest, so after brunch, we’ll take a quick trip to the Festival and spend a few moments in the Gospel Tent listening to the thunderous and spiritual Gospel choirs.  God, after all, is where you find him.  Then it’s on to a vast range of music for every taste throughout Jazz Fest.

I hope you don’t mind me seizing the moment to make our arrangements.  I am virtually immune to having my spirit dampened when it comes to New Orleans, so please feel free to object to the plans.
